“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” Thank you that your word is always available to be a “lamp unto my feet”. Thank you that Jesus is the “light of the world”. Thank you that even if there is only a single candle that is enough light to push back the darkness. Allow me to stay close to the light.

the winds blow…
“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” Thank you Lord for the gentle breeze that was blowing yesterday. A gentle reminder of your sweet presence. Help me to be aware of the gentle breeze of your Spirit even when the winds are roaring or the air is still.
always incomplete
“Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled…. But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.”
Testify
Does my live “testify” to what I believe? Does my life “testify” to the wonders of His love, mercy and grace? “I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God”. May my life today, my words, actions and deeds “testify” to who He is in me. I have seen and experienced that God is who He says He is. “I am the Alpha and the Omega” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
“Never Once”
Lord, Thank you for the reminders of your love, grace and faithfulness. May I not forget all you have done in my life. As the song says “Never once did we ever walk alone, Never once did You leave us on our own, You are faithful, God, You are faithful.” Amen and amen…
keep your eyes open
“Thank God! Pray to him by name! Tell everyone you meet what he has done! Sing him songs, belt out hymns, translate his wonders into music! Honor his holy name with Hallelujahs, you who seek God. Live a happy life! Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works; be alert for signs of his presence. Remember the world of wonders he has made, his miracles, and the verdicts he’s rendered-“
“fear not”
Lord, I have read that in the Bible there are 365 times the words “fear not” are spoken. One for each day. Today I have friends who are faithfully seeking you and need to know “the plan”. Please allow them to hear your voice saying “fear not” and show them what the next step is. I thank you that you are faithful even or especially when we are fearful.
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
life and more life
“If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open….Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life.”
great love
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.”
a busy day
Lord, it is going to be a busy day. Please help me to enjoy the gift of this day in the midst of the busyness. Allow me to hear the still small voice that is you among the sounds and activity of this busy day. Allow me at the end of this day to know that I did what you had for me to do – no more and no less. Thank you.
