Be Strong

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

take Him seriously

“But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.”

a firm grip

“I pulled you in from all over the world, called you in from every dark corner of the earth, Telling you, ‘You’re my servant, serving on my side. I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’ Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.”

Fear no evil

“I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Focus

I start the day with focus but then life starts happening – the phone rings, the sink leaks, emails, texts… The immediate seems to redefine the important. Focus. Breath. Be still and know I am God.

come

I was glad when they said to me “come let’s worship together”   Come to praise, pray, teach,  drink coffee, chat, give hugs, or shed tears but come to bring glory to Him.

Trust

I know He can be trusted. He has done miraculous things time after time. Yet I have to choose to trust Him with each day. Choose to allow Him to occupy my moments, my thoughts, my plans. The old hymn says “trust and obey”. Oh, maybe that is the issue.

Today

Be present in this day. Give your attention to today. Be in the now.  N.O.W. no other worries. Listen! See! Be!

Be

The message for me currently is “be”. Be still. Become. Be with me. Be present.  Be aware. Be mine. Beloved.  Stop doing and just be. Don’t do church, be the church.
